First, when you walk in here it is nice but the decorations are a tad overwhelming. Lots of colors and random decor. Very weird, like Austin. The server we had was polite and got like 4 or 5 tables all in a very short period of time, so he was doing a lot of running. The main reason I came here was wanting to try the Big Papas taco, it did NOT disappoint! What an explosion of flavor in your mouth! We also got the La Bomba which, in my opinion, was too salty and not all that great. My husband also ordered Lucy's Short Rib Machado which he said was underwhelming. To drink we started with a Suadorado (horchata/cold brew) which I ended up requesting to replace with regular hot coffee as it tasted nothing like horchata and was very grainy. The coffee was VERY strong and also, not my favorite. My husband also ordered a pineapple agua Fresca which was the only drink besides the water we agreed on liking. I would definitely come back for the Big Papas taco but I think when we come back we will just stick to water and those tacos.

Great texmex spot! Heard good things about this place and it definitely delivers. If you're ever interested or in north Austin, I would highly recommend coming out. Now onto the food, hint: you can't go wrong. We got the salsa (award winning) sampler, which all were really great! The chips were great (fresh ofc). We also got the pork belly bowl (which slapped!) the pork was very juicy with a good mix of veggies/rice/beans. Would come back!

Met a friend for lunch who was visiting from out of town who wanted to eat some good Tex Mex! It's usually booked so we were fortunate to be able to get there early and get a walk in table. El Dorado is consistently good. Salsas are fresh. Lots of great food options. We had a nice time catching up over enchiladas and bowls. My friend doesn't like her food too spicy so we got the avocado mild salsa.

This one is tricky. Cult like following, check. Busy, check. Good food, check. Like most places these days, over-priced but also over-hyped. Because it's a local hood joint, I'm rounding up to 4-star.

Don't know how I overlooked this place for so many years! Everything from the food down to the staff was great! I had the Jordan special. My wife had the chicken enchiladas. The drinks will definitely get you right! Shout out to our waitress and a special shout out to Jordan. He made sure we were taken care of. He's good people. Definitely have to come back to this place soon!

Fantastic food and atmosphere! We had the green chili pork and the sirloin tampiqueno, which were delicious. The salsas are excellent, with options ranging from mild to hot. The queso is also decent. The margaritas are outstanding--our favorites are the Sin Hombre and the Watermelon margarita. The service is quite good, and there's a play area at the front for the kids. We've visited several times and enjoyed it every time. Two thumbs up!

Was on the hunt for best TexMex in Austin. After researching, it seemed like Eldorado was highly recommended. I do not regret picking here at all. The salsas were so fresh and tasty. Couldn't decide if I liked the green or the classic better. My margarita was freshly made and not from bottle mix like most. I will definitely be back if I ever find myself in Austin again!

Am I piggy because I wanted to order every single thing on the menu? Or am I piggy because our table did (almost) order every single thing on the menu? We had an excellent experience. You need to book a reservation well in advance unless you enjoy waiting a really long time for a table. The food is absolutely delicious. If I lived near here, I would visit often and just deal with weighing 300 pounds. I mean, I could just buy bigger pants, right? The location is funky. The restaurant is located in mini-mall which has a number of closed businesses and hopefully has seen better days. But never mind. Eldorado was booming during our visit. The decor inside is delightfully funky. The menu is outstanding and our server knew the menu inside out and offered great recommendations. They have beer, wine, FIVE, count 'em, FIVE different (and interesting) mocktails, and very good cocktails. I went with their special "Black Widow" cocktail (made with mezcal and blackberries) and it was smoky and sweet and fantastic. I thought I would hate it but I loved it. Don't tell anyone but I might have drank two of them and they were strong. If you like salsa, start with the salsa sampler. You get six different salsas (plenty for the table to share). I didn't love the super mild one but loved almost all of them. As long as we are sharing, I wanted to rub at least two of them over my body. We also ordered the queso and it was excellent. I absolutely recommend it. For my main meal, I ordered the Cubanos Carnitas and it was very crisp and flavorful. The entrees come with two sides and they offer many different sides. I selected the CheezNRice (rice and queso), which was amazing, and the No Hater Tater (mashed potatoes with queso, of course) and it was terrific. Their sides are wonderful. The tortillas and chips are freshly-made and delicious. Their enchiladas are great. I am dreaming of my next visit and presently looking into buying bigger pants. Go big or go home.

Busy busy spot so make reservations, we had a great server who was spot on for food on time and getting us drinks. Salsa was a good creamer one which we enjoyed. I wanted enchiladas and got them with cheese. 8 of us there and all finished our plates as it was delicious. We will be back for special occasions.
